We need your help to support the work we do. We are happy to provide you with PCD Family Support Group t-shirts, help you with sponsorship forms or setting up Just Giving webpages or giving you ideas on what you can do.

To help you support us we have given you a few ideas to begin with.  If you can’t find any ideas here you like, you could look at www.ideasfundraising.co.uk.

1. Dinner Parties

You and friends host a dinner party and use the theme of the TV show.  Rate each dinner and the winner receives a prize. Ask everyone to make a donation to take part.

2. Easter Egg Hunt

Hide some chocolate and invite a few friends. Do this anytime of year, not only Easter. Charge family and friends to hunt for the chocolate.

3. Face Painting

Any animal you like…

4. Cold Turkey

Give up your favourite thing for a week sponsored by friends, colleagues or family.

5. Car Wash

Clean cars for easy money.  Enlist the help of your local brownies or scout group and split the proceeds with them.

6. Pupils vs. Teachers

Do the teachers really know more than the pupils? Test it out, get friends to sponsor you to do it.

7. Any Sports Event

Support us in any sports event. Can you swim 50 lengths for us, run a 5k, 10k or a marathon for us?  We can provide you with sponsorship forms and t-shirts just Contact Us.

8. Dress Down Day

Have a fancy dress day, people will pay good money not to wear their usual work or school clothes.

9. A Bloody Great Fundraiser

Put a swear box in the office and find out who is the most offensive.

10. Bad Taste Day

Get everyone to wear their worst fashion choices into work at a price.  Have a prize for the worst outfit.

What your fundraising could pay for

£10 will send an information pack including a DVD.

£30 will pay for an acapella ( a plastic device to help with physiotherapy.

£100 will buy a trampoline (to encourage children to be more active and also helps with physiotherapy.

£300 will sponsor a researcher to attend a conference and write a paper.

£500 will buy a physiotherapy table for a patient with PCD.

£600 will pay for a stand at the British Thoracic Society Conference.

£1.000 will cover the annual cost of producing our newsletters.

£1,500 will pay for a summer family day.

£1,000 - £2,000 will pay for an important medical article to be made free to the public.

£12,000 will pay for an administrator to work part time doing newsletters, minutes etc.

Schools

To enable us to spread the word about PCD and other genetic conditions we are happy to come into school to talk to pupils.  Our presentations can be tailored to the age of the children and also to cover aspects of the curriculum including Personal Social Health Economics Education (PSHE) and GCSE Science.
